IBS project receives generous support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy BMWi
Unterföhring, August 2021. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy BMWi is funding the development of a modular braking system for autonomous driving from Level 3 to Level 5 with a six-figure sum.
The future belongs to autonomous driving and LSP's own invention is suitable for overcoming the technological and economic hurdles to market launch. The invention is based on the use of low-cost ball-seat valves, but in an inverted installation method. The resulting change in the mode of operation is the actual innovative approach, as one valve per brake caliper is eliminated. The duration of the funding is 21 months.
Within the project, the mechanical structure of the brake system is to be designed and constructed first. An essential, innovative core idea is the control of the ball seat valves, which represents a large part of the workload. Subsequently, the system has to prove itself in ABS and ESP operation before it is finally presented to the customers.
The development of future-proof series brake systems is a cornerstone of LSP GmbH. The funding project secures LSP's innovative strength and enables to contribute to the stability of Germany as a business location.
LSP is proud of the latest funding project and looks to the future with optimism that many more innovations can be put into practice.
