The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy makes a six-figure contribution to LSP’s development of a proprietary hydraulic transmission control system. The duration of the project is 18 months.

With LSP’s patented concept, the various hydraulic gearbox controlling elements are actuated directly and exclusively by an electrically driven hydraulic piston and an innovative valve switching technology. This makes it possible to use cost-effective ball-type valves from ABS braking technology, which are virtually leak free and result in minimal throttling. Overall losses are thus significantly reduced. Actuation is 100% on-demand. Pressure is directly regulated in a closed, leak-free hydraulic circuit by the hydraulic pistons so that control parameters such as shifting force, volume displacement, bleeding levels and actuation pressure are all readily available. All of this makes it possible to develop new control strategies, which in turn lead to distinctly improved pressure control results and system diagnoses as well as eliminate system models that require complex calculations and are susceptible to disruptions.

The modular concept can be implemented for DCT, DHT, AMT and EV as well as for passenger and commercial vehicles.
